Contact your Senators to support the Community Parks Revitalization Act

Senators Kerry (D-MA) and Gillibrand (D-NY) have signed on as original co-sponsors and several other Senate offices have expressed an interest in the bill. We need every NACPRO member reaching out to their respective Senate offices and request that they sign on to the Community Parks Revitalization Act. We encourage members to educate your Senators on the various ways that parks build communities and share with them examples of the impact of existing parks and programs and/or potential projects in their counties. We have prepared a template letter that you can use to craft your message.

2013 NACPRO County Tour - October 7

Mark your calendars for the NACPRO County Tour and Awards Banquet to be held during the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Congress and Exposition in Houston, Texas from October 6 - 10, 2013.

Join NACPRO for a tour of Harris County Park's (Precinct 4) Spring Creek Greenway on Monday, October 7. The County Parks Tour will be conducted by NACPRO. More details and information on registration will be available soon.

Annual Awards Banquet

On Wednesday, October 9, 2013, NACPRO will hold their annual Awards Banquet. The awards nomination package is in the works now and will be available in early July.

Harris County Park's Spring Creek Greenway

NACPRO created a group on NRPA Connect, an online forum for the exchange of information and knowledge. We like to think of this as our Best Practices Forum, a place where you can post your pressing issues and get informed suggestions from colleagues. Subscribe today - You can’t have much of a conversation if no one else is sitting around the table.

Here’s how it works: The Email Listserv functions like a mailing list. Someone posts a question on the listserv by either logging into NACPRO Connect Group or by sending an email to NACPRO@nrpaconnect.org. That email goes out to all subscribers. Subscribers can respond with suggestions, which in turn are also shared with the subscribers.

You do not need to be a member of NRPA to join the group, but you will need to create a free account. Once you are logged in, search for the NACPRO Group, join our group, and setup your Delivery Settings.
