FEATURED PROJECT OF THE MONTH

Scale Models

One of the very best ways to present a proposed park project to the general public is to construct a scale model. People who are not used to viewing plan drawings and other graphic renderings can easily preceive a 3-dimensional model, the more realistic, the better. The following example was constructed by a team from Bricker + Cannady, Architects of Houston, Texas. This model displays the proposed development of a 37 acre heavily wooded site known as the Northshore Family Park. This passive use area will include several unique small picnic pavilions, one large group pavilion, trails, play area, and restroom.
This model was constructed at a scale of 1" = 30'. The completed 5' X 5' model was mounted on a pedestal stand and ecncased in a plexiglass frame for public viewing.
